BRIDGES

Because missing teeth can have a negative impact on your overall oral health and self-esteem, you should consider replacement options. For several missing teeth, Dr. Villaroman may suggest a porcelain bridge. Dental bridges can restore proper bite function, improve chewing and speaking, and renew your appearance.

A bridge is compromised of artificial teeth made from porcelain and is bonded to surrounding teeth for ultimate strength and function. Because a bridge relies on nearby natural teeth for support, they work as effectively as original teeth to complete your smile and restore the functionality of your bite. Choose from a traditional bridge, the most common bridge, a cantilever bridge, used when a natural tooth is present on just one side of the missing tooth, or a Maryland-bonded bridge, which employs a metal framework to support prosthetic teeth and gums.

During traditional bridge placement, Dr. Villaroman will prepare your anchoring teeth and create two prosthetic crowns. Then, he will take an impression of your teeth as a model for the dental lab that will generate your bridge and replacement teeth. While the laboratory fabricates your custom restorations, you will wear a temporary bridge. At your next appointment, Dr. Villaroman will place the permanent bridge, and you’ll leave the Modesto Smiles office with a brand new smile and a new lease on life. Great oral hygiene and regular check-ups will protect and ensure your completed, beautiful smile.
